In underground hydraulic supports and open-pit mining equipment, hydraulic hoses act as the vital safeguard for the whole system. The EN856 4SP four spiral steel wire hydraulic hose features a maximum working pressure of 420bar (42MPa). Specially developed for heavy-duty mining hydraulic systems, it delivers outstanding pressure resistance, excellent pulse durability and strong environmental adaptability to ensure long-term stable operation of hydraulic circuits.
Four-Layer Steel Wire Structure for High Pressure Resistance
EN856 4SP refers to medium-pressure hydraulic hose reinforced with four plies of spiral steel wire. It adopts a multi-layer composite structure with well-defined functions for each part.
The inner tube is made of oil-resistant synthetic rubber (NBR / CR), which effectively prevents erosion from various hydraulic fluids and maintains reliable sealing performance. The reinforcement consists of four layers of high-tensile steel wire arranged in cross spiral winding, forming a rigid load-bearing framework that enables the hose to withstand the rated pressure of 420bar. The outer cover is cloth-finished synthetic rubber with excellent oil resistance, weather resistance and abrasion resistance. It resists UV rays and aging, perfectly suited for harsh underground and outdoor working conditions.
Manufactured in strict accordance with DIN EN856 4SP, GB/T 10544-2013 and ISO 3862-1 4SP, the hose has a safety factor of 4:1. Its minimum burst pressure is four times the working pressure, up to 1680bar, which effectively absorbs extreme pressure surges and guarantees operational safety.
Excellent Performance for Severe Mining Conditions
Mining machinery operates continuously under high temperature, high pressure, frequent pressure pulses and heavy abrasion, which sets rigorous requirements for hydraulic hoses. This hose works steadily within the temperature range of -40℃ to +100℃, and selected models can withstand continuous high temperature up to 121℃. It achieves a pulse life of over 1,000,000 cycles with zero leakage under repeated high-pressure impacts.
When applied to coal mine hydraulic supports, the hose can be manufactured with flame-retardant and anti-static properties, fully complying with MT/T 98 and MSHA standards to maximize operational safety in underground mines.
Take the standard size DN25 (1 inch) for reference: Inner diameter 25.4mm, outer diameter 39.7mm, working pressure 28MPa (approx. 4060PSI, close to 420bar), minimum bend radius 340mm, burst pressure 112MPa, weight approx. 2.02kg per meter. It combines lightweight design and superior mechanical strength.
